Maritime Training School Courses

Boat Licence

Enjoy the benefits of skippering your own boat. Our one day course or evening course will cover all the training required to enable you to qualify for a boat licence with NSW Maritime. Our courses are run by friendly, experienced instructors that will make it a fun day out on the water for all newcomers or salty seadogs alike.


General Purpose Hand (Deckhand)

For people wanting to enter the Maritime Sector of the Transport & Distribution Industry as a General Purpose Hand and In marine service occupations. Our General Purpose Hand course is a competency based learning program of 32 hours over 4 days (including Sea Survival) taking place on our training vessel MV Silver Spirit.


Jetski Licence (Personal Watercraft)

At Maritime Training School, the PWC safety course is a popular add-on to our General Boat Licence course or an upgrade for your General Boat Licence. Our 1-hour PWC safety course covers licence conditions, registration, trip planning, maintenance, safety equipment, and responsible use. NB. PWC students must have a current GBL, or attend our GBL course prior to commencing this course.


Marine Radio Licence

In our Marine Radio Course, you will learn about the different types of marine radios, EPIRB and more. Upon completion of our course you will obtain a nationally recognised Marine Radio Licence.


Night Navigation

Navigation at night through the busy Sydney Harbour can be a very daunting task for the new boater or the inexperienced. Responding to the needs of boaters Maritime Training School has designed a course that will give you the skills and confidence to navigate at night.
